About Alaskan Cruise Shirts

Alaskan Cruise Shirts started on the deck of a Holland America ship somewhere between Juneau and Skagway, after one too many gift-shop racks of cruise-line logos and puns.

Why the souvenir you actually wanted still matters

Somewhere between Juneau and Skagway, on the open deck of a Holland America ship, we watched the Chilkat Range slide past in the low afternoon light and thought: there is no shirt in that gift shop that looks anything like this. There were cruise-line logos. There were bear-pun tees. There was nothing that looked like the Alaska we were actually sailing past.

So we built Alaskan Cruise Shirts for the other kind of traveler — the one who wants the poster, not the punchline. Every design draws from the visual language of the 1930s WPA national-park posters: bold color blocks, confident type, landscapes and wildlife rendered with enough care that the shirt still looks right hanging in your closet in November. Alaska, worn well.

Built for Alaska cruise season — and the years after it

Our customer is on the deck at 6 a.m. watching Margerie Glacier calve into the bay, or standing on the Skagway dock with two hours before the ship leaves, or sitting at home in February with an Alaska sailing already booked and a packing list open on their phone. They are not looking for a shirt that shouts. They want something that holds the memory quietly — the kind of garment you reach for on a Saturday three years later and remember exactly where you got it.

The catalog is organized around the four things Alaska cruisers actually see: National Parks (Glacier Bay, Denali, Kenai Fjords, Katmai), Cruise Ports (Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, Sitka, Seward), Wildlife (humpbacks, brown bears, bald eagles, orcas), and Aurora — because Alaska does not end when the ships go home in September. Every design is rendered in earth tones and muted palettes. Nothing here looks like a beach souvenir.

How we build a shirt

  • Original art, every time. Every design in the catalog is drawn in-house in the spirit of the 1930s WPA national-park poster tradition — no stock clipart, no recycled vectors.
  • Premium blanks. Our flagship is the Comfort Colors 1717 garment-dyed tee; we also run Bella+Canvas 3001 for a trimmer fit and Gildan 18500 hoodies for the cold-deck days when a tee is not enough.
  • Made to order. Each shirt is direct-to-garment (DTG) printed fresh when you order — no warehouse of pre-printed stock, no fading from months on a shelf.
  • Alaska-specific, always. We name the places accurately — Endicott Arm, Misty Fjords, Tracy Arm, the Lynn Canal — because the people wearing these shirts have been there and they notice.

What we stand for

The poster, not the punchline

We exist in the gap between cruise-line logo tees and tourist-shop bear puns. WPA travel-poster aesthetics, applied specifically to Alaska cruise destinations — that is the only lane we work in.

Cold-weather depth

Alaska decks average 48-55 degrees in July. We build hoodies, crewnecks, and long sleeves in every design group because a tee-only catalog does not match the actual climate of the Inside Passage.

Specificity over scenery

We write Glacier Bay National Park covers 3.3 million acres, not 'beautiful Alaskan scenery.' The same standard applies to the art — every port, park, and wildlife icon is drawn from the real place, not a generic stand-in.

A real return policy

30 days, no interrogation. If the fit is wrong or the color is not what you expected, write us and we will sort it out — no restocking fees, no 'you wore it once' clauses, no receipt forensics.

We are not a souvenir shop. We are a small operation making the shirt we wished existed on that Holland America deck.
